Most 4×4 Clubs in South and Southern Africa only cater for those in a specific geographical area. There are however some who extends past area and province borders. The majority of the South African National 4×4 Clubs are brand or “belief” concious. A very limited amount of clubs accept members from all areas and vehicle brands. Most of the true, one size fits all, national 4×4 club are heavily internet and forum based, which is a good thing, since distance can be a problem.

The 4×4 Action Group of South Africa is a National Club for Off Road Users and 4×4 Enthusiasts.
What makes the 4×4 Action Group different from most other clubs in South Africa?:
- The 4×4 Action Group is a National Club.
Of the 50 odd 4WD clubs in South Africa, 75% are regional clubs and only a quarter are National clubs. - 4x4AG-SA is not a brand specific club.
A Large number of SA’s National Clubs are aimed at owners of specific brand vehicles. - Probably the most honourable role of the Action Group, and one which truly sets them apart form most other clubs; divided into 3 rolls:
1. Legislative Representation:
Be the eyes and ears for its members; to inform, represent and defend against proposed and changed legislation in the “4×4 industry”.
2. Developmental Assistance:
Recommend and encourage its members to further their 4×4 and off-road skills, like their Ultimate Bush Master Program.
3. On the Ground function:
And the club is not without the fun component, as they arrange a wide variety of outings, from day activities to more extended 4×4 trips. Further they can also assist in obtaining 2-way radio licences and product guidance.
